Some good news:

The feedback to Re-35 has truly been overwhelming. It seems Re-35 really addresses a need and people worldwide can’t seem to wait to get their hands on our “product”.
The bad news:

Some things are to good to be true!
Re-35 does not really exist. We (the design company Rogge & Pott) created Re-35 as an exercise in identity-design. We invented the “product” because it was something, that we had wished for for a long time (as many others).

We launched the website and sent out “press releases” on April first - thinking, that the date would make clear, that Re35 is just wishful thinking - a classic April Fools Prank!

A lot of people didn’t hear about Re-35 until after April first, so we added this disclaimer
However:

All this attention Re35 ist getting might actually be good for something. It proves, that there is a gigantic community of photographers with analog equipment out there that is desperately waiting for a product like this to come along- and we are looking into the possibilities.

We hope there are no hard feelings
and that you are not too disappointed.

The RE-35 is a cartridge just like the classic 35mm film roll that slides into the standard film camera compartment. The RE-35 cartridge uses flash memory to save the digital images in high resolution JPEG’s or RAW up to 4, 8 and 12 Megapixels.

To export the photos and charge the cartridge you connect the cartridge via USB to your computer. It works on both Mac and PC. Unfortunately there aren’t any test shots or tech specs on this just yet. I sure hope this is as good as it looks and not an April fools prank. It’s an awesome idea and I’d hope the quality would be representative of actual film. Curious about the cost for this thing because I’m completely sold.

See “Waiting for Superman”. Although I will say that there are some teachers who milk the system, most suffer from having to deal with sub-par educational material and class work. The general population seems oblivious to the tragic state of our education system. What’s the point of keeping defense spending at it’s current levels? Given the present state of our public educational system, we won’t have qualified individuals to operate these defensive weapons in a few generations. We’re definitely on the way to a have and have not society. Will there even be a middle-class in 2 or more generations given the current path our society is headed down in regards to education?
